Two online classes available for CCAF credit
The Air Force Culture and Language Center (AFCLC) is offering two distance learning courses worth three credit hours each: "Introduction to Culture" and "Introduction to Cross-Cultural Communication."
Both courses are self-paced and can be used to satisfy three credits of social science or used as three elective credits.
The "Introduction to Culture" online class will be offered during the fall session.
According to the AFCLC website, "the course explores the many aspects of human life that are influenced by culture, such as family relationships, religion and belief systems, sports, health practices, history and myth."
The enrollment window for ""Introduction to Culture" runs from September 20 to October 3.
"Introduction to Cross-Cultural Communication" is scheduled to be offered during the winter session, with the online registration window open from October 18-31.
This online course will help Airmen better understand the communication process occurring across cultural lines. The AFCLC website listed nonverbal communication, paralanguage, cross-cultural communication conflict styles, active listening, and interaction skills as topics to be covered in the class.
Visit the AFCLC website for more information or to register for either of these classes: http://culture.af.mil/enrollmentwindow.aspx.
It's important for Airmen interested in taking either of these free online classes to register early as both are expected to fill up fast.
