Volunteers out in force for community dinner Published Jan. 10, 2019 By Public Affairs 120th Airlift Wing GREAT FALLS, Mont. -- GREAT FALLS, Mont. -- Current and retired members of the 120th Airlift Wing, Montana Air National Guard, carve turkeys Dec. 24, 2018 at the MTANG dining facility here. More than 50 volunteers showed up, many before 5 a.m., to prepare food for the 26th annual Danny Berg Memorial Dinner, held on Christmas at the Great Falls Senior Center. This was the 17th year MTANG has been a partner in this charitable event. Airmen roasted 60 turkeys, cooked stuffing and made more than 40 gallons of gravy. At the end of the day almost 600 meals were served. “This is one of the highlights of the year,” said Master Sgt. Robert Osier, 120th AW Base Services Manager. “It’s great to make a difference and to truly give back to the community.” The holiday meal is named for Retired Master Sgt. Danny Berg, a former member of the 120th AW who established the event for local residents who may not have family or friends to spend the holiday with. Berg passed away in 2008 after battling cancer.
