    104th Fighter Wing marks historic transition to fifth‑generation fighter

  • U.S. Airmen assigned to the 163d Civil Engineer Squadron, California Air National Guard, perform upgrade projects during a deployment for training (DFT) at Seward Military Resort in Seward, Alaska, Aug. 10-24, 2026. Thirty-nine Airmen across seven Air Force Specialty Codes participated in the fifth and final rotation of Civil Engineer units from across the country, conducting trenching, metal wrapping, electrical work, concrete placement and roofing across four structures. The DFT allows Airmen to upgrade the Morale, Welfare and Recreation facility while completing training requirements that prepare them to perform their duties in overseas and deployed environments.
