The 120th Airlift Wing originated in 1947 as the 186th Fighter Squadron, flying F-51's. In subsequent years, the 120th Airlift Wing has flown the F-86, F-89, F-102, F-106, F-16, and F-15. The unit recently converted to the C-130 Hercules.
