Vigilantes,

The Montana Air National Guard has had another incredible year filled with noteworthy accomplishments.  In the middle of conversion, we continued to execute our mission deploying Airmen in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.  We also carried more than our fair share of AMC requirements, flying 39 operational missions, including 9 JA/ATTs, 17 Guardlifts, 9 TACC missions transporting more than 2500 personnel and 278 tons of cargo.

I am extremely proud of each and every one of you!  Your dedication and focus has vastly improved our readiness and kept our C-130 conversion on track.  During the November UTA we had a midterm AFIS visit by an AMC IG team; again you proved yourselves well in our management and execution of our inspection program.  We are exactly where we should be in our growth into a mobility airlift wing and we have a clear path for the year ahead.

Moving forward, I want to take this opportunity to introduce the 120th Airlift Wing's new Mission and Vision Statements:

Mission:
To answer the calls of our Nation and State with ready Airmen and precision aerial delivery anytime, anywhere.

Vision:
A leading edge Airlift Wing known for its high performance Airmen and exceptional mission effectiveness.

These statements describe what we do and who we want to be in the future.  They also form the basis of our new Wing Strategic Plan which we will roll out in the weeks and months to come.  More to follow...

Until then, let's focus on having an outstanding drill.  The December UTA is packed full of events focused on resilience.   Amy and I hope to see you and your families at the Holiday Party. It's going to be a great event! This is a fantastic time of the year and I want to encourage you to celebrate the holidays and our many accomplishments.

I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  I am looking forward to another exciting year for the most outstanding unit in the Air National Guard!
