First 120th AW quarterly awards presented

The first awards in a new 120th Airlift Wing quarterly awards program were presented to Airmen during a meeting of senior leadership, commanders and supervisors prior to the November unit training assembly.

The quarterly awards program was instituted by 120th AW Commander Col. Lee Smith to provide timely recognition of the outstanding work of Airmen assigned to the wing.

Each group was eligible to submit nominees in the categories of Airman, noncommissioned officer, senior noncommissioned officer, company grade officer, field grade officer, innovator of the quarter and squadron of the quarter.

Airmen winning at the group level progressed to compete at the wing level.

Winning wing-level awards were: for the Airman category, Senior Airman Benjamin McLaughlin from the 120th Mission Support Group; for the NCO category, Staff Sgt. Stephen Crass from the 120th MSG; for the SNCO category, Senior Master Sgt. Rebecca Carmichael from the 120th Operations Group; for the CGO, 1st Lt. Robin Allen from 120th Wing Headquarters Squadron; for the FGO, Maj. Cody Burroughs from the 120th OG; for the innovator, Senior Master Sgt. Gregory Milton from the 120th Maintenance Group; and the squadron of the quarter award was presented to the 120th Logistics Readiness Squadron.

The next quarterly awards will recognize the outstanding work of 120th AW Airmen occurring during the fourth quarter covering the period of October through December 2015.
